I thought i'd post a few makeup ideas that i've been playing around with for christmas day! One simple (the first one) which is great for those who don't get dress up or go over the top over christmas. First of all i primed my skin using benefit professional and rubbed it in and let it sink in naturally, not applying my foundation straight away. For foundation i used Rimmel Match perfect in Ivory and applied it to my whole face. I didn't apply a liquid contour as i wanted to keep it really simple. I set my foundation using MAC setting powder. I then applied bronzer to my cheek bones using Bourjois bronzer and highlighter duo. Again i didn't use a highlighter, mainly because the foundation i used is quite shiny and i have naturally oily skin and so i have my own natural highlight as you could call it. I filled in my brows using soap and glory archery, FAV EYEBROW PRODUCT EVER, it allows you to darken your natural brow hairs and create amazing looking eyebrows without making them look fake and nasty. For my eyes i put on MUA eye primer and rubbed it in with my fingers. Then i applied one simple lilac purple colour all over my lid and under my eyes, bleeding it in, in my crease. For mascara i used Benefit they're real on both top and bottom lashes. I barely used any products on my eyes as i wanted a really simple look. To intensify the look you could add eyeliner, or add a darker shade of purple in the crease and under your eyes. On my lips i used a plain pink nude, no liner.
This look is a lot more done up and uses a lot more products. This is the one i will be wearing on christmas day! The look is quite a bronzed contoured look that i went for with a thin liner and bold brows. For foundation i used Rimmel Wake me up in ivory which i applied all over my face. For base contouring i used Rimmel Wake me up in true ivory (one shade darker than your usual foundation) and applied this to my cheekbones, jawline and down the sides of my nose. To base highlight i used Rimmel hide and blemish concealer (any light conceal or will do) and then buffered that in lightly using a clean buffing brush. To add to the contouring, over where i put the dark contour lines i applied st.moriz light bronzing powder to those areas to define it more, i then used Bourjois bronzing powder to the very top of my cheekbones. For highlight i used the Bourjois highlighter for the bronzer and highlighter duo. For brows i combed through my eyebrows with a generic eyebrow brush and then to fill in my brows i took an angled brush and filled them in using a brown eyeshadow, i did this because i wanted a slightly darker brow than normal and using a powder creates the look of natural brows. To show off my brows more i used a white/cream eyeshadow and ran it under my eyebrows and blended it into my eye. For my eyes i used one all over light brown colour Fade from the MUA Ever After palette and blending in the edges, i did this because i wanted the look to be all about the brows and the eyeliner and a darker or more complicated eye would make the look way too busy for my liking. For eyeliner i took soap and glory cat eye eyeliner and applied the liner as close and as thinly to my lash-line. For mascara i used MAC waterproof eyelash mascara. For my lips i just used a nude brown matte colour as i really wanted this look to be about the brows.
My final look is the oat christmassy of them all. It is the most busy and festive of them all and i created this one for everyone who does dress up and go all out for christmas, this is also amazing for new years parties of festive events during the season.
Firstly i primed my skin using MAC Prep + Prime skin. For foundation i used Nars Sheer glow, i got this as a tester from my local Nars counter as it is highly recommend by so many people. For powder i used The Body Shop Brush on Radiance pearls. For blush i used MAC Dainty Mineralize blush just on the apples of my cheeks. The blush is great as it is a light pink, really sublet and natural on the skin. For brows i used a light brown eyeshadow from my MUA Ever After palette as my usual powder was a bit darker than what i wanted for the look so i used a slightly lighter powder and just applied it to my natural brows. For eyes i started off with MUA pro-base eye primer to allow a cleaner application of the eye shadow. For the lid i used a dark purple shadow from my REVOLUTION Redemption palette which i then blended into the black shadow from the same palette which i applied in the crease of my lid. I slightly winged out the black shadow as to blend into my eyeliner which i next applied. For liner i used Benefits They're Real liner to do a long winged line on my lid. I went for a long wing as i wanted my eyes to be as dramatic as possible. I then applied Natural Collection mascara to my upper and lower lashes. Using a small eyeshadow brush i applied the purple eyeshadow under my lower lash line and blended it into where it met my eyeliner. To add more drama to my eyes i then put black liner on my entire water line (upper and lower). For lashes i used the Eylure individual long lashes. For lips i wanted a red lip, because it's my fav, i used MAC REDD lip liner and my Burberry Military Red lipstick. Which i enjoyed V much!!
