(I haven't posted in a while and i apologise for that).
There is a huge change between winter and spring makeup, with lighter pastel colours taking over from the sharp dark products that would we would have used in winter. A lot of brands have brought out their new spring/summer makeup ranges and me being me i just had to splash on some new products. I always find spring makeup more fun because you can experiment with bright colours, plus i can tan/bronze more naturally without people looking at me thinking 'that's fake'.
So i thought i would share with you my everyday spring makeup look that i will use on most days. I do tend to change my makeup a lot but that is only when i know i have more time to get ready and have the time to experiment with products and techniques. But this is what i will use on an average day to day basis.
First of all i apply my Benefit Pourfessional primer (£30) all over my face to prepare my skin for the makeup and allow my makeup to stay put during the day. I put minimal primer on because a little bit can go a long way and putting too much on can allow the skin to become v oily.
For foundation i used Maybelline dream matte in ivory (£7.99). I used just enough to over my face, not coating it because I'm going to be contouring at that in itself will add an extra layer to my face. If you apply loads of foundation then the end product may feel cakey and thick.
I then set my foundation with Rimmel stay matte powder, just applying this all over my skin to really set the foundation and get rid of the shine that may come from your foundation. Any foundation will do it's just the one i used, but make sure it matches your skin (might sound obvious but people don't seem to grasp that).
Then to contour i used the LaTour kit from Amazon (£4.99) i then applied three dots to the side of my forehead along my hair line. Then i apply a line down my cheekbones and along my jaw line. Using a clean blending sponge i then blended this into my skin. When blended in i apply a line of light concealor above where the cheekbone is and along the line of my nose and in the centre of my forehead, to give a subtle highlight to the darker contour. Sometimes i'll apply liquid concealor under my eyes if i have dark bags just to hide them more. Blend all this in with a separate blending sponge or a round foundation brush.
To then enhance my contour i apply St.Topez bronzer (£4) on top of my cheekbone contour. I use this bronzer because it is a shimmery bronzer as opposed to a matte one, it works as a joint highlighter so if you didn't want to highlight you wouldn't need to. I always use highlighter but think it gives something nice extra.
I then applied a new favourite of mine, Soap and Glory 'Peach Party' blush and highlight (£11). Because its spring a nice blush to brighten up your face and i know that personally in winter i don't use blush because the cold gives me rosy cheeks but in spring i need that colour to be added. I gently apply this to apples of my cheeks, above the contour. This acts as both a blush and highlight so no highlight is needed. Unless you want to externally glow the socks off yourself.

For my eyebrows i use an angled brush to outline the top and bottom of my brow, this allows me to have a clear outline of where to fill my brows in, making it a cleaner and more precise brow. I do this with a brown eye shadow from MUA Heaven and Earth palette (£3), but use whatever colour matches your eyebrows. I then use the same colour to fill in the brows, brushing up in the middle of the brows as not to give a box effect to the brows. You want them to look full not fake. A great product to use if you don't want to use eyeshadow is Soap and Glory's Archery (£10).
Then i used a stick concealor under arch of the brow to highlight it (£1 MUA).
I then prime my eyelids using small dot and rubbing it in using my fingers. TIP; using your fingers helps apply the product better as the heat from your fingers allows it to get in deeper. I use MUA Eye primer (£1).
For my eyeshadow i keep it simple only using one colour but layering it up to be brighter and bolder. Using an orange/pink eyeshadow from the MUA Ultra Eyes palette (£8). Taking it all over the lid and onto the crease, building it up in colour. Then using a clean brush i blend around the edges to soften the look and using a small brush i take the colour under my lower lid.
Now this look looks good with or without eyeliner, the bold eyes make the eyes pop without the need for eyeliner. But for this look i did use eyeliner. Using Soap and Glory Cat eyes liner (£6) i apply the eyeliner to my lid, trying to make it look as perfect and symmetrical as possible without wanting to stab myself in the eye from extreme tension build up. Keep calm, the eyeliner senses your fear. I find it helps to draw a line from the outer corner of the eye first then draw the line as close to the lash line as possible, then join a line from the end of your wing to the lash line and fill in and perfect.
For mascara i used the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Extreme Black (£7.99), which i apply to both top ad bottom lashes. This is the best mascara I've used for a while, it has the holy grail of mascaras. It gives amazing volume/length to my lashes and is extremely black, not an off black which you tend to get a lot and DOESN'T CLUMP. Also smells of cucumber.
For lips i don't use a liner because the lipstick i use is matte and nude and i don't want a lot of attraction to the lips, i want a softer lip and most liners make the lips look too bold. For lips i use my fav nude of the moment (great dupe for MAC Velvet Teddy) Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Matte lipstick in 'Super Nude' (£6). I apply this all over my lips. This lipstick is really good, lasts ages and doesn't dry out my lips like matte lip products tend to do. The Soap and Glory lip product range is just amazing check it out.
I then set my face using ELF setting spray (£8) which holds everything in place for the day/night ahead.
OK, so there it is...My everyday spring makeup look. Hope you enjoyed reading, got a few posts in store and projects that I'm working on in collaboration with companies in both Birmingham and Nottingham so keep an eye out.
Thanks for reading, comments appreciated.
Love you all xx
