Lately i have being sticking to the Slimming World diet, So i thought i would share what i eat on an average day for those who want to eat healthily without the food being boring and bland. By sharing my food intake with you all i am able to keep onto of what i am consuming. Because i live with my parents i am not completely in control of what foods are in the house and what i eat for meals. So a lot of these meals are everyday normal meals with a healthy twist or made differently with all the same taste and using foods you'll find in your local supermarket.
So starting strangely on a Tuesday (my first day off of the week so i was able to organise my meals for the week).
For breakfast i had low fat yoghurt yoghurt with half an apple (cut up), a handful of strawberries and a hand full of green grapes. With the remaining fruit i put it all into a blender with a splash of semi-skimmed milk and had this as a smoothie instead of my usual one sugar milky tea. This was a really tasty breakfast and really filled me up for the day. Such a great meal to eat if you're looking to have a really low calorie meal.
For lunch i had cracker bread with no butter and low fat cheese. This doesn't sound like a lot but the breakfast really filled me and i at that time i wasn't hungry so i didn't think that filling up a big lunch would be beneficially seen as i wasn't hungry.
For my lunch i had a chicken breast (butterfly style) in a garlic and herb spice to give it flavour, a portabello mushroom and one medium sweet potato boiled and then put into the oven (fries style with only a dash of oil). This meal was so easy to make and filled me up so much. It was a large meal but i didn't feel bad after eating it because it was all healthy and i knew it would be food easily burnt off when doing exercise that night.
That night i wasn't hungry much after my large dinner so i made a smoothie with some fruit in my fridge and had half of it before bed and left the other half for that morning. For exercise i did start the day by going for a run around the park with my dog and did five stages of Charlotte Crosby's 3 min belly blitz.
On an average day i will eat foods like this some may differ obviously i don't want to be eating the same meals every day! I also try to consume 4 big bottles of water a day and drink as little caffeine as possible (i live in a brummie household, i kind of have to drink at least 3 cups of tea a day which i use sweetener instead of sugar). For snacks i try to eat fruit but the odd chocolate bar or pack of crisps or a biscuit isn't too bad because your body does need fatty foods as part of a natural diet.
Don't completely cut out bad foods and your favourite foods because then life will become miserable and you want the diet to become a part of your everyday life. Make the food tasty and fun for yourself because that's the only way you'll be able to better yourself.
I am new to this myself but am already seeing the benefits of eating healthier and drinking more water. I will try to post more lifestyle blog posts, recipes, exercise routines, updates on my progress...but as i said I'm new to this so i am not an expert and this stuff is only my experience. Everyone is different.
