I recently started a new venture with a very dear friend of mine. As a pair we organised an entire day in which we got two of our friends to model for us and help us take photographs as part of a 'festival style look book'. My dear friend Ciara is an aspiring makeup artist so this was the perfect opportunity for her to practice her skills and have photographs taken for her portfolios. It was equally as perfect for myself as i wanted to delve more into great blog posts and practice my photography skills.
For this blog post i am going to share with you the Four Hair style looks we used on our models as part of the festival season.
Firstly, My favourite hair style from that day...The floral Milk-Braid. This look was done on our model Abbie who has mid-length hair. Firstly, we put her hair into two braids and then pulled them to the top of the hair and gripping them in place. Once we were at the venue for our shoot i walked around the fields picking fresh flowers and leaves, weaving them into the braid itself. Simple, yet Gorgeous.

Secondly, The smooth wave. Using anBabyliss Curling Wand we took chunks of Abbie's hair, making loose curls. We did not section the hair as we wanted the curls to be big, bouncy and look very natural. A similar look is achieved by putting your hair into two braids when the hair is wet or damp. I love this look as it is so natural and pretty. I think this is a great hair style for festivals because it can be done without heat or electricals and looks effortlessly beautiful on all hair lengths.
I love this third look which we styled on the stunning Holly. Seriously what is a festival hair style without a flower crown and by the looks of Holly's hair a HUGE flower crown?????
Holly has amazingly long hair but this can work with any long hair. Ciara our stylist took holly's hair and again used the curling wand to create beautiful small curls that then dropped to create a natural silky curl. We then added the crown which i made myself! (round of applause please).
I made the flower crown by dismantling four flower crowns which i had purchased and then stitched them onto a thick ribbon. I also had a few flower petals which i has brought previously on ebay for a school project which i glued together to make different flowers. I kept stitching until the crown was thick and full.

Finally a beautifully easy look that can be recreated with any hair. Ciara, our stylist, took Holly's natural curls and brushed them out, backcombing the hair slightly so it was thick and volumised. Then she added a small braid from under Holly's right ear, bringing it forward through her locks, tying it with a see through elastic bobble.
This is a great look for festivals as it is different yet so easily done. It gives something interesting to a normal hair style.

I really enjoyed this day of coming up with different styles for our festival theme shoot. The photos have come out just incredible and i will be posting a series of different festival styles, makeup tutorials and jewellery. Hope this has helped, inspired or even made you smile at how gorgeous these girls look. (V proud of my photography).
