Lately i have been having a smoothie ever morning with breakfast or after a workout to ensure i get a healthy amount of fruit in one day. I have been experimenting with lots of different fruit and flavours to make some really tasty smoothies. Each smoothie is made up of 3-5 different fruits, fat free yoghurt or semi skimmed milk and it completely natural...FREE from additives. Making them tasty and extremely good for you, FREE from guilt. I know that smoothies can be messy and a bit time-consuming to prepare but i tend to make these on the night, maybe even two, because most use the same types of fruits, i then keep them in the fridge (they taste great after a night in the fridge). To make these smoothies i have been using the Blend Active blender which was purchased from amazon for £20. It is an very handy blender as the bottle you drink from is the container the fruit is blitzed in. Less washing up so perfect! Here are the smoothies i have been making and experimenting with:
The first one is VERY BERRY:
-two fingers of semi skimmed milk.
-a handful of raspberries
-a handful of strawberries
-half an apple (with skin)
-two slices of tinned pineapple.
This one tastes as you can imagine very berry! This one is very sweet and tastes incredible. This one is a great smoothie for those who like simple none exotic fruits and have a sweet tooth. The pineapple gives a slight zing to the flavour and cuts through the berry taste which could be sickly on its own.

Secondly, PURPLE BLITZ:
-Two tablespoons of fat free natural yoghurt
-a handful of raspberries
-two handfuls of blueberries
-two slices of tinned pineapple
-a handful of grapes
This again is great for a sweet tooth. I especially love this one because the blueberries and raspberries are grown in my garden.

The 'YELLOW' one (it is seriously the only name i could think off that wouldn't put you off trying it):
-2 Tablespoons of natural fat free yoghurt
-Half of a whole mango (without the skin)
-3 slices of tinned pineapple
-1 apple (with skin)
-2 tablespoons of pineapple juice
When i first made this one it didn't look appetising at all but it seriously is delicious! DON'T JUDGE IT. The pineapple gives a lovely flavour when mixed with the mango. It is a bit of a more exotic smoothie.

THE PINK LADY:
-2 fingers of semi-skimmed milk
-2 slices of tinned pineapple
-1 apple (with skin)
-3 handfuls of raspberries
This is a really simple but tasty smoothie and an easy one to make.

THE FAVOURITE (name says it all really):
-2 slices of tinned pineapple
-1 apple (with skin)
-2 handfuls of blueberries
-1 handful of strawberries
-2 handful of raspberries
-1 finger of semi skimmed milk
This one i am drinking as i write this. It is made up for really simple flavoursome fruits and is so easy to make. Because of the pips on the strawberries and the skin on the apple it is slightly chunky which allows it to fill me and is a great substitute for a snack or along side a small meal. (cutting your calorie intake).

Finally, BLACK DEATH (don't let the name put you off):
-2 fingers of semi skimmed milk
-1handful of blackberries
-2 handfuls of black grapes
-1 apple (with skin)
This is great one of to just shove into the blender and drink. Again the pips and skin make it slightly chunky but that is great as a filler instead of a chocolate bar.

I hope, if anything, this has given you some ideas or helped any budding smoothie lovers. My love of smoothies is slowly growing since starting slimming world and my diet. They are easy to prepare and allow me to control what is going into my body. I am more than happy to do more recipe blog post and fitness posts as i take this journey of hopefully loosing weight and being happy with my image. Have a nice day!!
