On a day like today, when it is raining and we are either at work or stuck inside, we all want a bit of comfort. My ultimate comfort is snuggling up in bed with a cuppa tea and read a good book. So i thought i would share with all my readers my favourite books. Books i read over and over or books i enjoyed reading. I hope that i inspire you to try these books or venture into reading new books.
First of all is a book which i was made to read as part of my GCSE's and i have enjoyed reading over and over since. To Kill a Mockingbird is a classic which i feel i can appreciate more because i leant about it in great detail at school. This american classic is exactly that, a classic. I always encourage friends and family to read this book and everyone who I've recommended the book to have enjoyed it.
Now my favourite ever book is John Green's The Fault in our Stars. Now even though it is my favourite book i have only ever read it once. The book itself i read within 24 hours and i had to stop half way through because i was crying so much. It is an amazing twist on a young couple who fall in love after experiencing cancer as children. The book is s story about to kids with cancer falling in love but its not a story about cancer. Hard to explain but such a heart warming and amazing book which i loved reading......Oh for all those reading this thinking 'I've seen the film' just read it still because it is so much better (books always are) but the film misses out the importance of moments and symbols and shortens the impact the story has on people.
Current read: the girl on the train. This book i am only a few pages into but i am so gripped by the mystery surrounding the book. I was drawn to read this book because of social media. So many people talking about this book i just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. (sheep, i know)
Matilda. If you don't know what this is then get out. Leave my blog and never return to the internet. To be perfectly honest any Roald Dalh book is acceptable but Matilda has to be my favourite. The film is also acceptable for a day like today! but Books...yes i was talking about books. I love Matilda, it is such a classic book, a story i was told when growing up and is such an original beautiful story that is so unique and heart warming. Matilda is also great for you small readers as it is a small novel that could be read in one day/night.
50 Shades Trilogy, I know I've written a post on this one because it is SO INCREDIBLY AMAZING (yes, mum they are good books). But i had to include this amazing love story trilogy in my favourite books. I really enjoyed these books and was completely addicted to reading them! They have such a bad reputation but they were such a great read and they are so much more than what you think they are. It is a raw and truly beautiful love story that is so far from the cliche that it'll keep you reading and wanting more.
In need of more inspiration for blog posts. Comment what you want me write.
